We are Los del Rin — a rumba flamenca band born in the heart of Basel, Switzerland, on the banks of the Rhine. Seven musicians from different walks of life, united by a shared passion for the raw joy and soulful fire of Andalusian rumba.

We carry the spirit of the Spanish patio — spontaneous, warm, and full of life — and we plant it here in the north, where the Rhine flows and the unexpected flourishes.

Wir sind Los del Rin — eine Rumba-Flamenca-Band, geboren im Herzen Basels, am Ufer des Rheins. Sieben Musikerinnen und Musiker aus verschiedenen Lebenswelten, vereint durch eine gemeinsame Leidenschaft für die rohe Freude und die feurige Seele der andalusischen Rumba.

Wir tragen den Geist des spanischen Innenhofs in uns — spontan, herzlich und voller Leben — und pflanzen ihn hier im Norden, wo der Rhein fliesst und das Unerwartete aufblüht.

Somos Los del Rin — una banda de rumba flamenca nacida en el corazón de Basilea, Suiza, a orillas del Rin. Siete músicos de distintos mundos, unidos por la pasión compartida por la alegría desbordante y el fuego del alma de la rumba andaluza.

Llevamos el espíritu del patio español — espontáneo, cálido y lleno de vida — y lo plantamos aquí en el norte, donde el Rin fluye y lo inesperado florece.

I'm Jorge, the one in charge of setting the rhythm. I've spent almost 20 years among drum kits, cajóns and all kinds of percussion. I've played in rock bands and tributes to Queen and The Beatles, but now I can finally bring out my flamenco side.

Ich bin Jorge, derjenige, der den Rhythmus vorgibt. Seit fast 20 Jahren bewege ich mich zwischen Schlagzeug, Cajón und allen möglichen Perkussionsinstrumenten. Ich habe in Rock-Bands sowie in Tribute-Bands für Queen und The Beatles gespielt, aber jetzt kann ich endlich meine Flamenco-Seite zeigen.

Soy Jorge, el encargado de poner el ritmo. Llevo casi 20 años entre baterías, cajones y todo tipo de percusión. He pasado por bandas de rock y tributos a Queen y The Beatles, pero ahora por fin puedo sacar mi lado más flamenco

Miguel came to music by the least academic and most authentic route: the street, rehearsal spaces, and years of playing out of pure passion. He never studied music formally, but has spent years learning by listening, experimenting, and sharing stages with other musicians. Between 2014 and 2015 he was part of the band La Banda Ancha, performing as singer and guitarist. Over time, he found his true instrument in the bass, bringing personality and solidity to every song. For Miguel, music is not a business or a profession — it is a form of expression, friendship, and joy that continues to be part of his life every single day.

Miguel kam zur Musik auf dem denkbar unwissenschaftlichsten und authentischsten Weg: die Straße, Proberäume und Jahre des Spielens aus purer Leidenschaft. Er hat Musik nie formal studiert, aber verbrachte Jahre damit, durch Zuhören, Experimentieren und das Teilen der Bühne mit anderen Musikern zu lernen. Zwischen 2014 und 2015 war er Teil der Band La Banda Ancha, wo er als Sänger und Gitarrist auftrat. Mit der Zeit fand er im Bass sein Hauptinstrument und bringt jedem Stück Persönlichkeit und Stabilität. Für Miguel ist Musik weder ein Geschäft noch ein Beruf — es ist eine Form des Ausdrucks, der Freundschaft und des Genusses, die täglich ein Teil seines Lebens bleibt.

Miguel llegó a la música por el camino menos académico y más auténtico: la calle, los locales de ensayo y las horas tocando por pura pasión. Nunca estudió música de forma reglada, pero lleva años aprendiendo a base de escuchar, experimentar y compartir escenario con otros músicos. Entre 2014 y 2015 formó parte de la banda La Banda Ancha, donde actuó como cantante y guitarrista. Con el tiempo encontró en el bajo su instrumento principal, aportando personalidad y solidez a cada tema. Para Miguel, la música no es un negocio ni una profesión: es una forma de expresión, amistad y disfrute que sigue formando parte de su vida día tras día.

From a young age he tried his hand at piano, guitar, and flute. Classical music wasn't his thing, so he quickly lost interest. Years later he rediscovered his love for the guitar and began putting to use what he had learned as a child. When he moved abroad, he dedicated himself to refining his flamenco technique so as not to lose his roots. Gradually drawn into the wild harmonies of jazz, he has been forging his own style — bringing a personal touch to the music of Los del Rin.

Schon als Kind versuchte er sich an Klavier, Gitarre und Flöte. Da klassische Musik nicht sein Ding war, verlor er schnell das Interesse. Jahre später entflammte seine Liebe zur Gitarre erneut, und er begann das zu nutzen, was er als Kind gelernt hatte. Als er ins Ausland zog, widmete er sich seinem Flamenco-Spiel, um seine Wurzeln nicht zu verlieren. Allmählich in die verrückte Harmonik des Jazz eingetaucht, entwickelte er seinen eigenen Stil — und bringt der Musik von Los del Rin seine ganz persönliche Note.

Ya desde pequeño lo intentó con el piano, la guitarra y la flauta. Como la música clásica no era lo suyo, en seguida perdió el interés. Tiempo después recuperó su amor a la guitarra y empezó a hacer uso de lo que había aprendido de niño. En cuanto se fue a vivir al extranjero se dedicó a mejorar su toque flamenco para no perder las raíces. Introduciéndose poco a poco en la loca armonía del jazz, ha ido creando su propio estilo, para dar su toque personal a la música de Los del Rin.

Sol: Adrián

Adrián was born in Burgos (Spain). He began studying classical guitar there at the age of 8, and has since explored different styles, including early music (which led him to Basel to study lute and early instruments at the prestigious Schola Cantorum Basiliensis), electric guitar, and flamenco, through which he met the other musicians of "Los del Rin".

Adrián wurde in Burgos (Spanien) geboren. Dort begann er im Alter von 8 Jahren, klassische Gitarre zu studieren, und hat seitdem verschiedene Stilrichtungen erkundet, darunter die Alte Musik (was ihn nach Basel führte, um Laute und historische Instrumente an der renommierten Schola Cantorum Basiliensis zu studieren), die E-Gitarre sowie den Flamenco, durch den er die übrigen Musiker von "Los del Rin" kennenlernte.

Adrián nació en Burgos (España). Comenzando allí a estudiar la guitarra clásica a los 8 años de edad, ha ido explorando diferentes estilos, entre ellos la música antigua (lo que le llevó a Basilea a estudiar laúd e instrumentos antiguos en la prestigiosa Schola Cantorum Basiliensis), la guitarra eléctrica o el flamenco, que le lleva a conocer al resto de músicos de "Los del Rin".

Musik ist keine Vorstellung — sie ist ein Gespräch. Jede Rumba, die wir spielen, ist eine Einladung: zu fühlen, sich zu bewegen, für einen Moment das Gewöhnliche zu vergessen und sich daran zu erinnern, was es bedeutet, gemeinsam lebendig zu sein. Wir setzen keine Grenzen zwischen Genres oder Kulturen. Wir nehmen die Wurzeln des Flamenco, atmen die Rhythmen der Strasse ein und lassen den Rhein seinen eigenen Vers schreiben.

La música no es una actuación — es una conversación. Cada rumba que tocamos es una invitación: a sentir, a moverse, a olvidar por un momento lo cotidiano y recordar lo que significa estar vivos juntos. No ponemos fronteras entre géneros ni culturas. Tomamos las raíces del flamenco, respiramos los ritmos de la calle y dejamos que el Rin escriba su propio verso.

Our music is rooted in Rumba Flamenca — the jubilant, percussive cousin of flamenco that was born in Andalusia and carried to the world. Think rhythmic guitars, handclaps, driving bass, and voices full of joy and longing.

We draw from the classic rumbas of the Flamenco tradition, weaving in touches of Latin groove and Mediterranean warmth. Every show is built to make you dance.

Unsere Musik wurzelt in der Rumba Flamenca — dem jubilierenden, perkussiven Verwandten des Flamenco, der in Andalusien geboren und in die Welt getragen wurde. Rhythmische Gitarren, Handklatschen, treibender Bass und Stimmen voller Freude und Sehnsucht.

Wir schöpfen aus den klassischen Rumbas der Flamenco-Tradition und verweben Elemente des Latin Groove und mediterraner Wärme. Jede Show ist dafür gemacht, dass ihr tanzt.

Nuestra música tiene raíces en la Rumba Flamenca — la exuberante y percusiva prima del flamenco, nacida en Andalucía y llevada al mundo. Guitarras rítmicas, palmas, bajo contundente y voces llenas de alegría y añoranza.

Bebemos de las rumbas clásicas de la tradición flamenca, entretejiendo toques de groove latino y calidez mediterránea. Cada actuación está hecha para que bailéis.
